A Valentine Celebration

Last Friday, a dear friend hosted a valentine's dinner for the married couples in our church. We had more than 20 couples attend. It was such a lovely evening! The host had prepared well with a catered dinner, games, and a time of worship through song. She had thought of everything. There was even a"Whisper-Sweet-Nothings-Room" with a table for two, and paper to write a love note to your sweet heart. I think the best part of the evening was the "Newly-wed/Oldy-wed game. She had a total of four couples; one couple had been married less than two months (whom won by the way) and the oldest couple I am guessing had been married 30 or more years. I've included a picture of the contestants. The winning couple is second from the right. Don't mind the crazy guy waving in the background. Who is he anyway?

As part of the special night, my friend asked me to host a pajama and movie party for the children at my house. Without the help of some sweet young singles in our church we could not have pulled this off. I came home to happy children and a clean house. That's amazing considering there were 13 children but then again they are a terrific group of kids not to mention our really reliable and responsible sitters. Thank you!

If I have been M.I.A. in bloggityville lately it is in part due to preparing for this event and in part due to my health issues. I am happy to share that my back problems are the only thing keeping me from being back to "normal". Thanks again for all your prayers and well wishes.

Here you are! Been missing ya! And thanks for reminding me that tomorrow is V-day. I think I need to get to the store and do something about that! My husband and I don't really do gifts. Flowers and dinner maybe. But I like to get my daughter a little something and have her pass out cards... ugh, I better get started on this!!

What fun!! And how nice for the parents to have all the children cared for as part of the deal.

Todd and I are going to a Shane & Shane/Bethany Dillon concert tonight for Valentine's Day. Quite excited about that!!

Glad you're feeling better and still praying about your back!

It was such a fun party! I had a good time playing that newlywed/oldly wed game! If only I had known what Troy thought his blood type was! :)

Have a wonderful Valentine's Day!!!

Melissa- I thought you guys had it in the bag. That's alright though you went on to spank us all in the song game. Good job! I've got a picture I need to email you.
