Chili with Garlic Cheese Biscuits

If your husband is like mine, he loves meat and needs to have something to bite into every now and again. The last few days have been really rainy ones and the cold weather has me hankerin' for something warm on the tummy.

Here is one yummy chili recipe:

1 Pound ground beef or ground turkey
1/2 C onion
1/2 C celery (optional)
46 oz. tomato juice (or 2 cans of tomato sauce, soup, or stewed
tomatoes-simmer for less time)
15oz. Chili beans (or kidney beans, I prefer chili beans)
1/3 C uncooked macaroni
1 tsp. chili powder
15 oz. stewed tomatoes

In large saucepan, brown first 3 ingredients; drain excess fat. Stir in remaining ingredients and simmer, covered for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Other spices we have added on occasion: cayenne, garlic salt, minced garlic, and red pepper.
This recipe wouldn't be the same with out these cheese biscuits. Our secret ingredient is Johnny's Garlic Seasoning. We add it to the butter mixture as well as the biscuit dough. Super YUM!

**The original Bisquick recipe calls for 2 tblsp of butter as opposed to the 1/2 cup the linked recipe calls for. **

Little sister...girl you can tell we have the same DNA! I just made a double batch of Turkey Chili night before last and we are still eating on it! By the way...could you please pass me a few of those yummy-soundin' "garlic cheese biscuits"? ;)

Oh yum!! That would be the perfect meal for this snowy day! Though I've planned a "Weight Watchers" dinner for tonight. Just doesn't seem right...

Ter-it's on it's way.

Jenster-

Just so you know the biscuits are 3points if you divide the dough into 9 biscuits. I have a recipe for sausage bean chowder under my recipe label. It is 3 points a serving if you divide the soup into 8 servings. It's probably 2 C or so.

That sounds SO yummy, April! Thanks for sharing.

I am glad you're so happy about your curriculum switch, too. I'm not there yet - just my Pre-K and K and we're starting SWR now. But...I've heard great things about SG, and expect to dive in before too long!

How are you feeling? Hope you're doing alright.

Blessings in Christ, Sister.
